The Executive Committee has finally decided to reschedule the PSME Ball this Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Prestige Tower, Ortigas Center from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Please read the e-mail sent through the Yahoo! Groups by the president regarding the reasons why it has to be pushed through this weekend.

Rest assured that we value your sentiments but this decision has to be done for the sake of the majority.

For the members: please prepare your presentations and make sure you have paid Php 300.

For the alumni: please be there. The registration fee is Php 500.

Thanks and more power to PSME-UPSU!

Now before you react, please read on first..

Not holding the ball means letting go of the 5000 pesos we deposited for reservation.
Not holding the ball means setting aside the efforts of the organizers and the members
in preparation for the event. Not holding the ball means failing the expectations of the members
on this activity which is, unfortunately, the only event catered to them this semester.

We understand the people saying that this is not an appropriate time for such an activity,
considering the conditions of those who were affected by typhoon Ondoy.
We also believe that we should help the victims, yes. But the decision we
made is actually in full consideration of the members.

Personally, we in the executive committee have nothing against
cancelling the event. It would be okay for us, less hassle pa nga. The thing is we don’t know
if the members feel the same. And we had to make the decision earlier this afternoon to confirm
with the venue. So in consideration of the things I have just mentioned above, we said yes. Tuloy.
Please understand us guys.

By the way, we have contacted the members who were affected by the flood to ask for their current
conditions, and they are, at the moment, getting better. This morning, we have sent food supplies to
the family of Lloyd, an applicant. We are also currently raising funds to help Joshua. Those two are the
most affected among us in PSME.

Another thing, we will be helping in the relief operations being done at the Church of the Risen
Lord here in campus. That would be on Friday. I hope you guys could also come and bring donations.

We would also like to ask for help from our alumni [and even the members]. Any donations
from you will be helpful to our orgmates who were affected. Please contact me if you would
like to help (Bry, 09156608539) .

So.. ayun. Relief Ops this Friday! 9am at the Church of the Risen Lord, UP Campus. Bring donations.
PSME Ball this Saturday! 1-5pm. Prestige Tower, Ortigas Center. Be ready with your committee presentations.
See you guys.

Be safe.

Regards,
Bry
