PUP Grabs PSME Cup 2009 Championship Title

After a day of muscle-cramping, heart-pounding sports action, Polytechnic University of the Philippines Student Unit was laud this year’s PSME Cup Overall Champions.

Bulacan State University bagged the 1st Runner-up slot while University of the East Student Unit placed 2nd Runner-up.

The morning session started with an opening program. Engr. Charles Massido, the president of PSME-Quezon City Chapter as well as other officers and the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers – University of the Philippines Student Unit junior adviser, Engr. Pacino P. Puno graced the event held at the Department of Agrarian Reform Gymnasium, Sept 6.

Also, the candidates for Ms. PSME Cup 2009 were presented.

2008 Champions University of Sto. Tomas’ Karl Lizardo lead the athletes’ oath which signalled the start of the cup.

Eliminations were held during the rest of the morning session. The afternoon games were filled with thrill and excitement as different games like badminton and chess were finished.

The ball games, volleyball and basketball went on to the semifinals stage while the Tug-of-War games were started.

The Miss PSME Cup 2009 held its Question and Answer round on the closing program where the winners of each event were recognized, too.
